We are general contractors above everything else. All of the other services we offer fall under this main category. Whether it’s building a custom home, adding onto your home, remodeling a kitchen, or building a new commercial building. The term encompasses all that we do.

What Exactly are General Contractors?

A General Contractor or GC is responsible for the day to day operations on a construction site. We work directly for our clients. Managing vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, schedules, budgets, and facilitate communication between all involved. We manage everyone and everything on a project. In a very simple nutshell, this is what we do on a day to day basis.

General contractors are usually tradesman first, and contractors second. And that’s true in our case because both Carl & Adam are both carpenters. Our job starts when you call our office with questions about a project. We then do a site visit, to assess the project and get a better understanding of it. We go over all documents, work with building departments and look at existing circumstances. Along with the client’s scope of work, in order to put a budget together for the project.

What are our Responsibilities?

Our number one responsibility is safety for everyone involved in and on the construction site.

After that, we’re responsible for everything that goes into the construction project. We’re talking about material, labor, equipment, all of it. We do all of our own carpentry, both rough and finish, in house with our employees. And we employ specialized subcontractors like plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC contractors to do their very specific trades.

We design the project and make application for permits. Advise our clients, and listen to their needs throughout the entire process. We manage personnel, schedules, budgets, records, debris, jobsite security, engineers, and that’s the shortlist!

We’re required by the State of California to have a valid contractor’s license. Our license number is #735813. And we’re also required to have liability insurance and workers compensation insurance. And yes, we do have both.

Like other professions, there’s a whole lot more to being a general contractor that just building stuff. If you have any questions about our contracting services, don’t hesitate to give us a call!
